BIOGRAPHY

Nugent is a nationally exhibited and published painter. She lives and works in the Kansas City area. Originally from Rhode Island, Nugent obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the Maryland Institute, College of Art. She studied painting at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy, and The New School for Social Research in New York City.

She derives inspiration from American folk art, textile and quilt design, and the traditions of pattern and decorative painting. Nugent’s aim is to reflect the joy that art brings to her life.
