BIOGRAPHY

Brandi is a self-taught mixed media artist living with her family in West Des Moines, Iowa. Art has been her lifelong obsession. It is what keeps her grounded and happy.
After many artistic endeavors she finds herself here today and only hopes to continue evolving. Her art grew from photos of family relatives her Grandmother gave her. Inspired, she wanted to tell their stories. Armed with a shared family history, she began down the path she is on today.
She has moved from her family collection to discarded photographs of individuals discovered at estate sales and antique stores who have now found their place in her art. Not given the privilege of learning their history, she has built a fictional story through layers of paint, ephemera, and many mediums, to breathe life back into these individuals whose photographic records have been misplaced or forgotten.
